For any photographer, shooting a friend's wedding can be a daunting task. There is a lot of expectation and hype that you have to tackle! But at Shed Light Photography, we relish in the challenge. As a Santa Clarita wedding photographer, there are always going to be situations that we have to think through and work around.

It was a bright and sunny day, albeit with some wind, in February. Catie and John were getting ready
to have their lives committed to each other forever! Catie and I worked together a number of years ago, and through getting to know here and her family, I was able to witness a solid family dynamic. The Pearce family, being naturally talented in music in general, even having their own Bluegrass band, are simply lovely people. The wedding was to be held at the Pearce family home in Sand Canyon in Canyon Country.

Catie is a naturally beautiful soul and lady and John a dashing young man. Together their chemistry was dynamite. With the wind blowing the colorful streamers attached to a wooden truss, we started our day photographing the beautiful dress and details in the reception are. we quickly transitioned to all of the bridesmaids and then groomsmen prior to the ceremony. The ceremony held a particular beauty for John and Catie as John's grandpa said the service.

Afterwards we hussled into family photos and the Me & You section of the day where we got to go off and have some time alone with John and Catie for some romantic and elegant photography. We also had the immense opportunity to capture their wedding video for them! Shed Light Cinema is a full service wedding videographer in Santa Clarita.
